Man... this week has flown by!!! Each week just goes faster and faster. They're honestly going too fast. The weather is great here.... when there's wind. When there's no wind it's dang hot. The beginning of this week was really hard for me. I don't know why but a huge wave of homesickness came over me Monday night and Tuesday morning. But I figured the two keys to getting rid of homesickness in the mission #1 is prayer. I had to spend a while on my knees asking the Lord to help me #2 is work. As soon as we left the house to work and I forgot about myself and my own problems and I focused on the people in my area and helping them, all my homesickness went away. It's amazing what forgetting about yourself and serving other people will do for you. This week was really good for us. When I arrived in the area we had zero investigators. After this week, we now have 15 investigators. We've been fasting and praying and most importantly, working. Missionary work is honestly the best and most fun thing I have ever done. For example, we were walking and we saw some kids playing soccer. We decided to challenge them to a game. We told them that if we won, they had to come to church on Sunday. If they won, we had to buy them some Coke. We played them and it was so much fun!! We were on this super cool dirt field next to the hills here right at sunset:) aannnddd... we won:) They didn't come to church but we have their address so we're going to go and teach them:) We also had interviews with our Mission President on Saturday. They went well and It's crazy that we're going to have a new mission President here in only 3 months. I finally got to meet the whole ward on Sunday and they all seem really nice. We have a ton of less active members, but that's okay because it just means more work for us:) I'm loving absolutely every second of my mission. I'm here because of how blessed I've been by having the gospel and now I want to share with everyone here in Mexico. As missionaries we get sad when people tell us they don't want to listen to us not because it's embarrassing, but because we know what they're missing out on. I know without a doubt the Christ lives, and that he loves us. I know that if we search for him, we'll find him. If we let him into our lives, he'll come. It's only through Christ that we can obtain true happiness in this life. I love you and hope you have a great week!!! -Elder Anderson |

My girls always got homesick after conference. They felt like it was because they saw HOME on the TV or computer. But you have the right attitude and that is work. That lesson will help you the rest of your life. You will have many trials and WORK and SERVICE are the best medicine. Keep up the good work. God is proud of you! Love Colette
