Not much crazy happened this week. We've just been working hard and having good lessons this week. Oh ya, our investigators Normalicia y Salvador have been having lots of financial problems, so we've been praying for them. On Friday we taught a good lesson to one of our investigators named Iriz. At the end of the lesson she asked us randomly if we wanted some fish. We took it even though we don't know how to cook fish. On our way home we say Normalicia with her little son so we were able to give her the fish, because they need it way more than we do. It was just crazy to see how God answers prayers. Well I don't have much else to say... Just that I'm loving every second of my mission right now and I'm so grateful for this gospel in my life. Love you all!!!
This has been great as usual : ) Let's see.... On Tuesday we helped tear down a tree of a member of the ward that has cancer. The people here only trust us to do types of service where we're breaking stuff, but if they're painting or building stuff they don't ask us to help..... haha oh well.

Well, first week of the new transfer. It went really fast but was really good. On Monday we had a really good lesson with Jose y Tania and we had an awesome young couple from the ward come with us to teach. It went really well and we have another lesson with them tonight. On Tuesday we had a really good lesson with Normalicia y Salvador. They also came to church for the second time this week!!! And they are more sure than ever that they want to get baptized. Salvador has been having a hard time finding work lately so they don't have any money right now, but the bishop is helping them out with food and we're also helping him build a little house for him and his family. They are so ready for the gospel and they truly need it in their lives.
On Wednesday we had a really fun family home evening with the Hermana Blanca. On Friday we went over to the Bishops house and showed them how to make crepes. While we were there the Sister Missionaries showed up because it's actually their area so they ate crepes with us:) On Saturday we went crazy with contacting people in the street and we found a bunch more people to teach. I honestly can't complain about anything in the mission right now. Everything is going great I can truly see a change in myself in these last few months. I look back to how I was before the mission and I cringe. The mission is the best thing I have ever done in my life. I love you all!!!! So this was the last week of the transfer and it flew by. Me and Sanders are both staying here in Guaymas. We're both super happy with it because this area and companionship are awesome:)
Let's see... On Wednesday we made friends with the police here and now they buy us hotdogs when they see us:) Also on Thursday we helped teach some English classes at the stake center. There are some gringos that live in San Carlos that teach the classes, but we come and help. It's super fun:) The best thing that happened this week (besides talking to you guys) was that Normalicia y Salvador came to church this week. We honestly didn't think they would come but they came and they brought their two kids. At the end of church Salvador looked at me and said "Thank you for sharing this with us, We're going to be here every Sunday from now on". It was such a simple sentence but it hit me hard. We take the gospel for granted sometimes but our investigators can see just how special it is. I'm so thankful for the opportunity I have to be a representative of Christ and share this gospel. I'm also so very grateful for my Mom and all the help and sacrifice she has given me to get me to this point. Heaven knows it wasn't easy;) But it was worth it.... I hope. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY. I love you mom and I'm so grateful for everything you've done for me!!! I wouldn't be here in the mission if it weren't for all your help, and I wouldn't be who I am today without your guiding example in my life. I love you Mom!!! -Elder Anderson Sup ya'll. This week went well. The thermostat down here got turned way up!!! It is sooooo hot, Freak we died. On Monday we found a really awesome couple named Jose y Tania. They're super cool and seem like they'll progress well. Oh ya on Wednesday we had a multizone conference in Hermosillo. One of the seventy came and spoke to us. Also it was mission Presidents last conference with us. He was really emotional! It was a really good conference. We talked a lot about the power of our calling as missionaries and that we shouldn't have fear when we talk to people. And that when we teach people we'll receive a joy that we can't find anywhere else. I was also able to see a bunch of old friends so that was fun too.
Lizbeth is still progressing well, even though she hasn't been able to come to church this past couple of weeks. I've really seen a change in her since we've started teaching her. On Saturday night every single house was having a party for the boxing match. They love that stuff here. Just walking in the street we couldn't help but see the whole fight because of all the TVs everywhere. On Friday we had a tough day. We walked around all day long in the crazy Sonora sun without much success. We got to the house "tristes, consados, sin fe" I read a scripture that impacted me a lot. D&C 122:7-9 7 And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good. 8 The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he? 9 Therefore, hold on thy way, and the priesthood shall remain with thee; for their bounds are set, they cannot pass. Thy days are known, and thy years shall not be numbered less; therefore, fear not what man can do, for God shall be with you forever and ever. This scripture gave me a lot of comfort to know that all of my trials will be for my good and make me a better person. But that I don't have to go through it alone. The Savior will always be there, at my side, to help me. I can't wait to see you guys on Sunday!!! I love you all and hope you have a great week this week!! -Elder Anderson |
