This week has gone by soooo fast. If I wasn't writing in my journal I would honestly forget what happened everyday. So here's what happened this week:
Sunday: We went to the temple dedication in the morning. It was really good and just fortified my testimony of temples.
Monday: Monday was boring. We started teaching our TRC investigator named Marco though, so that was fun. He's 45 and from Peru. He had polio as a kid so he has trouble getting around. But he's so much fun to teach.
Tuesday: Tuesday was good. I found out that I have been selected to sing in the the missionary choir during priesthood session!!!! I'm so excited!! It's going to be so much fun!!! Then later in the day we had a devotional by Elder M. Russell Ballard. That's two apostles in a row!! He gave a really good talk and it helped me to set better goals and to pray better.
Wednesday: I forgot to write in my journal on Wednesday, so I honestly don't remember what happened..... haha oops.
Thursday: The best word to describe me on Thursday would be overwhelmed. I was feeling very overwhelmed by the enormous tasks that have been placed before me. I have to learn a completely new language in 6 weeks and I have to prepare myself to be able to share this amazing gospel with the people of Mexico. That may not sound like much but I just feel so under qualified to carry out this great work. I feel like I never have enough time in the day to get it all done. But then we had a lesson later in the day that really helped. It taught me how to plan out my day better so that I can accomplish all of the things I need to get done. Also, I realized that I can't do all of this on my own and that I have to trust in the Lord. I read Nephi 3:7 and it really helped. I know that I can accomplish anything.
Friday: This morning we had our first practice for the general conference choir. It was amazing!!! There was the most amazing spirit there and I can't wait for you all to be able to hear us share our message!!! Then later in the day we were teaching Marco and he committed to be baptized!!! He's the first investigator I've had say yes.... It was the most amazing feeling ever!!! Now, he's already a member, it's just a role play. But the spirit that was there was amazing and I can't imagine what it will feel like to be able to baptize people out in the field!!
This week has gone by so fast and I know that these next two weeks will go by even faster!! I hope I can learn everything I need to by then!!
Everyone needs to watch the Priesthood Session of General Conference!! Sure, there will be some good talks and messages shared. But the biggest reason you should watch is because I'LL BE IN IT. We're singing like 6 songs and it's going to be amazing so look for me!!! I love you all and I can't wait to get to Mexico.
